Heather-Anne has been in my corner for four property sales and four purchases. None of these eight transactions can be described as “run of the mill”, “boiler plate”, “straightforward”, or “uncomplicated”. They each had their challenges. The last purchase also had a few specific requirements. Some of the challenges could be described as “well, I would not have believed that happened but for the fact that it did happen to me”. Once hired and throughout the process, she was encouraging, and flexible, willing to adapt; she also provided us sound advice in the process of negotiating.

Selling your home and moving away can be messy and emotional for a family, especially kids leaving their home behind for the first time. Throughout the selling process her communication was clear, and we were given very reasonable notice when someone was interested in a showing. We felt that our time and space was respected, and that Heather-Anne allowed the process to be guided by what our family needed day to day.

In the end, it still only took 12 days and 4 showings to solidify the offer that we were excited to accept.

My daughter recommended Heather-Anne Scott as a realtor to sell an acreage property near Fort Saskatchewan, Ab. This was my brother’s property, and I acted as a co-power of attorney with my sister in selling his property. I was impressed from the very first telephone conversation I had with Heather-Anne. Her research was sound, and complete. There were some complicating circumstances with respect to getting the 1970’s house ready for sale, but Heather-Anne listened to each detail, and gave an honest appraisal for the property in terms of this house, and other appraised values of similar houses in the area, all neatly placed and presented in a bound booklet. She spoke of “market trends” and encouraged me to list the property this fall, even though I felt next spring would be more suitable. Throughout the roughly 3 weeks that it took her to list and have the house and property sold, she proved to be excellent in every way. The most important thing I appreciated was the constant updating and contact with the seller. Any questions I had were answered almost immediately. Very shortly after Heather-Anne took the listing, it appeared on MLS and various other media outlets, with an open house held shortly after listing the property. I sometimes thought realtors charge too much to sell someone’s house and property and that almost anyone can do it. Wow!, when you see the details and work involved, I sure changed my mind, and am very glad to let a real professional do the job. Negotiations with the buyer and their agent were carried out promptly and I was contacted for my input on every offer, counteroffer, etc. No pressure was ever placed on me in terms of what the house was appraised at, what I should list it for, what I should do to make the property more saleable, how caveats against the property are handled, how to transfer the property at the Land Titles office, buyer deposits and where and when do I need a lawyer to do the final “closing” and sign off when the contract is fulfilled. Finally, I had bought and sold houses many years ago, but the “lack” of service I received at that time, would not compare the service I received on this sale and the realtor Heather-Anne Scott.
